The Dual-Degree Program in Law is an exciting opportunity offered to competitive current undergraduate students who have an interest in earning a law degree at the University of Miami. Through this program, current students with high academic ability and excellent standardized test scores gain admission to graduate study at the University of Miami School of Law. Dual-degree students who meet all program requirements will save a year by completing their B.A. and J.D. degrees in six years instead of seven.
This innovative program is available to students who complete three years in residence at UM in the College of Arts & Sciences.
Application requirements for the Dual-Degree Program in Law:
Current students may apply to the dual-degree program anytime after their first year provided they have been admitted as degree-seeking undergraduates.
Requirements to be promoted to the Law School:
Note: In order to be competitive for merit-based scholarships, a strong LSAT is required.
Any student who decides to continue their undergraduate studies for a fourth year of study will forego their designation as a Dual-Degree Program in Law student.
