Affording UM

A UM education within reach

If you’ve got passion, we have a path to transform your aspirations and interests into a rewarding academic career. With our modified approach to financial aid, which now includes meeting 100 percent of demonstrated financial need, we work closely with prospective and incoming students to help them understand how financial aid works and bring a Miami education within reach.

Student Employment

UM is at the forefront of student employment programs nationally, with approximately 4,500 students working on campus.

Resources

We know navigating financial aid isn't always easy. That's why we're here to help.

Loans

Various types of loans are available for students and/or parents.

Florida Aid

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is needed for state need-based grant and scholarship programs.

Veterans & ROTC

Yellow Ribbon Grants can help veterans pay for tuition costs that the Post-9/11 GI Bill doesn’t cover.

How your financial aid is determined

UM will calculate your family’s contribution based on the information you provide on your FAFSA and CSS Profile and subtract it from the full annual cost of attendance. The difference is your total demonstrated financial need.
