After submitting your application, please allow three to four business days for the University of Miami to receive it. Upon receipt, we will send you an acknowledgment email containing your CaneID and instructions about how to log in to CaneLink, our online student portal to track your application. The email you used on your Common Application is the email we will use to communicate with you at this time so be sure to check your spam, junk, and clutter folders if you do not see this acknowledgment email in your inbox.

If you are having trouble accessing your CaneID Self-Service page. Under “CaneID Assistance,” you can reset your password. Please do not register for a new CaneID.

Due to the heavy volume of documents received around application deadlines, please allow two to three weeks for all your application materials to be processed and for you to see them reflected on your CaneLink To Do List.

Navigating CaneLink

When navigating your CaneLink portal, you will use two main pages:

1) Student Home 

  • Welcome page: update personal information, apply for housing, and sign up for meal plan.
  • Student Center button: view application status, financial aid awards, pay your bill, register for classes, etc.

2) Student Center

  • Message Center: view copies of email notifications, including admission decision, scholarship letter, financial aid letter, etc.
  • To Do List: view documents or required actions that need your attention.
  • Financial Aid: access Net Partner, the financial aid system where you will see your document statuses and view and accept your 2020-2021 awards.
