EARLY DECISION I*
Financial Aid Deadline‡
There are various ways you can apply for admission as a first-year or transfer applicant. Review your options and decide which one works best for you!
Admission and financial aid applications, for both first-year and transfer applicants, that remain incomplete by the stated deadlines will be at a distinct disadvantage and likely will not be admitted.
Early Decision I (EDI) is our early, binding application option for applicants who are committed to attending UM if admitted. Deadline to apply is November 1. Students who apply EDI must complete and submit the Early Decision Agreement form, available through the Common Application. All EDI applicants are considered for our Premier Scholarships in addition to merit scholarships.
Early Decision II (EDII) is our early, binding application option for applicants who are committed to attending UM if admitted. Deadline to apply is January 6. Students who apply EDII must complete and submit the Early Decision Agreement form, available through the Common Application. Students applying EDII are considered for merit scholarships.
Regular Decision (RD) is our final, non-binding application option. The deadline to apply for Regular Decision is January 6. If you are applying to the Frost School of Music, the deadline to apply for this admission plan is December 1. Students applying RD are considered for merit scholarships.
Final Credentials Deadline is the date that all supporting documents listed on the Application Checklist in your Applicant Portal must be on file for consideration. This is also the deadline to change your major for a major in another school or college. EDI, EA, and EDII students whose application is incomplete by the Final Credentials Deadline will have their application rolled over into the Regular Decision plan.
*EDI and EDII applicants must complete and submit the Early Decision Agreement form, available through the Common Application.
†Frost School of Music Regular Decision applicants must apply by December 1. Please follow the instructions for applying to the Frost School of Music.
‡The FAFSA deadline for all Admission Plans is January 6. Applicants will receive an estimated financial aid offer with the admission decision. Confirmed financial aid offer will be provided after final FAFSA review, if applicable.
Transfer applicants have two entry term options. Both Spring First-Year and Transfer applications and/or supporting documents received after the stated deadlines will be reviewed on a space available basis.
