Kim walking on campus

The Office of Undergraduate Admission welcomes you to our dynamic Coral Gables campus—to experience firsthand what those of us who are part of the 'Canes community already know: the U is a special place.

REGISTER

You can download the Self-Guided Walking Tour Booklet which includes:

  • a campus map
  • point-by-point descriptions of what you'll see on campus
  • information about places of interest, such as our academic buildings, student life facilities, residential colleges, performance venues, and photo opportunities
  • information about places to grab a bite to eat

We ask that you register before you begin exploring campus. You will be able to stop by the Office of Undergraduate Admission any time between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to obtain a map on your selected self-guided tour date.

Safety Guidelines

To ensure the health and safety of our campus community, as well as any visiting prospective students and families, we have put in place the following measures based on guidance from public health and government agencies and numerous multi-disciplinary University committees. Thank you in advance for your compliance with the measures detailed below.

Face coverings are required while indoors at all times and outdoors if you are conducting your self-guided walking tour with 4 or more people, regardless of vaccination status.

Before your tour, complete a CDC COVID-19 Self-Checker before going on a tour.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission requires that you perform a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID-19 self-checker before taking your self-guided tour. We kindly ask that you depart campus and contact a healthcare provider if you do not feel well, have exhibited any of the symptoms on the CDC COVID-19 self-checker, or if you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission kindly asks that you do not take your self-guided tour and depart campus if you have traveled internationally within the past 14 days.

Capacities at various on-campus locations have been reduced to accommodate the need for physical distancing.

Self-guided tour maps will be available outside the lobby door so that you can grab and go!

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is currently unable to hold individual appointments. If you have specific questions about your application or supporting documents, we ask that you contact your assigned admission counselor and set up a time to speak by phone or virtual platform, such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Before visiting popular locations on the Coral Gables campus, such as the Campus Store or Food Court, we ask that you first review the real-time density monitor. At a glance, the density monitor will let you know if there is capacity at a particular location: green means there's lots of space, yellow means it's filling up, and red means it's at capacity, so please come back later.

Practice physical distancing and hand-washing guidelines.

Stay at least 6 feet away from others, do not gather in groups, and avoid contact, such as shaking hands.

Public restrooms will be available for use. We strongly encourage abiding by public health guidelines, including washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, or using hand sanitizer.

After your tour

While the University of Miami is taking all precautions to safeguard our campus community, we cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 exposure and infection on campus. Please be reminded that you are undertaking your self-guided tour at your own risk. If any visitor presents symptoms and subsequently tests positive for COVID-19 within 72 hours of visiting campus, please report this information to the University of Miami Health System at 305-243-ONEU, Option 4. If you test positive for COVID-19 more than 72 hours after visiting campus, you do not need to report this information to us.
