Please allow three to four business days for the University of Miami to process your application after submission.

Access to the Applicant Portal will be issued in mid-September. We will send you an acknowledgment email with instructions on how to log in to the Applicant Portal to track your application.

The email address you used on your Common Application is the email address we will use to communicate with you, so be sure to check your Spam, Junk, and Clutter folders if you do not see this acknowledgment email in your inbox.

Due to the heavy volume of documents received around application deadlines, please allow two to three weeks for all your application materials to be processed and for you to see them reflected on your Application Checklist.

In addition to checking the status of your application and required documents, you will be able to do the following in the portal:

  • Upload additional documents, as needed
  • Request a change of major
  • Review and update your contact/personal information
  • Update financial aid interest
  • Update self-reported test scores and test optional preference
  • Request to waive English proficiency requirement
  • Request to update admission plan (first-year fall applicants only)
  • Withdraw your application
  • Contact your Admission Counselor
  • Complete and submit supplemental applications
