All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships; no additional application is required. Transfer students are eligible for the President’s Scholarship of $15,000 annually, if they have a competitive GPA, which is typically a 3.5 or higher. International students are not eligible to receive federal need-based financial aid. However, if you are interested in applying for funds-available institutional need-based financial aid, please submit the CSS Profile and visit finaid.miami.edu for more information.

Recipients are notified of their award at the time of admission.

Eligibility Criteria

Priority consideration is given to transfer applicants who submit all of their International Transfer Admission Requirements by March 1 for fall admission and November 1 for spring admission. Spring admission is on a funds-available basis. Please note that the President’s Scholarship is awarded on a funds-availability basis for spring semester applicants.

The admission committee takes into account a student’s post-secondary grades, including rigor of curriculum, along with the holistic review of all application materials. A student’s GPA is recalculated based on the eligible transfer credits.

Terms & Conditions

A scholarship recipient must complete a full-time undergraduate program of study with no fewer than 12 credit hours during each of the fall and spring semesters for a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year. A minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the academic year must be maintained at the University of Miami, with the initial calculation at the end of the second semester of attendance. The award is subject to revision pending receipt of any grant, scholarship, or prepaid tuition and/or housing aid not anticipated at the time the award is made and is not available for students seeking a second bachelor’s degree. Visit our Terms and Conditions page for additional information.
