1. Complete the Application

Complete and submit the Common Application online. Please make sure that you are using the same email address for every part of the application process, this also includes signing up for standardized tests.

The essay portion of the application provides an opportunity for applicants to demonstrate their ability to write clearly and concisely and develop and communicate their thoughts. Transfer applicants are asked to provide a statement that addresses their reasons for transferring and the objective they hope to achieve. Detailed instructions can be found in the Common Application

Please note: Your application is not complete and we cannot begin your application review until we receive all required forms. Your $70 non-refundable application fee can be paid when you submit the Common Application. For students applying for admission for Spring or Fall 2017 admission, the Common Application will be available starting August 1, 2016.

Once you submit your application, it will take approximately three days for us to receive and begin reviewing it. Please allow us several weeks from the application deadline to process your documents and post them in CaneLink. During the busy application period, CaneLink is your best resource, as we are continually updating students' applications and documents.

If you are interested in applying for the Accelerated B.S.N. program as a transfer student, do not submit the Common Application. Instead, click here for application instructions.

2. Send Official Transcripts

All applicants who have attended any college or university outside the United States must have official transcript(s) for each college or university evaluated by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultant. For detailed instructions on how to submit official transcript(s) to request a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average (gpa) calculation visit here.

Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultant will send the evaluation report and copy of all the official documents used in the evaluation directly to the University of Miami Office of Undergraduate Admission. Evaluations will only be accepted when sent directly to us by Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultant. This is required before the Admissions Committee can review the application.

Any documents received by the University will become the property of the University and will not be returned to the applicant or sent to a third party including Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., International Education Consultant.

Please submit all official documents to:
